- Own the editing standard across long-form YouTube, short-form video, social clips, founder-led education, AI-avatar content, and new formats.
- Personally edit high-priority or technically difficult videos while leading and reviewing the work of other editors.
- Set standards for story, pacing, hooks, retention, visual language, B-roll, motion, captions, sound, colour, graphics, and finishing.
- Partner with the Channel Manager and scriptwriters before production to improve story structure, visual opportunities, and editability.
- Review YouTube and short-form analytics to diagnose drop-offs, weak openings, pacing problems, packaging mismatch, and format opportunities.
- Use AI across transcript analysis, paper edits, clip discovery, rough cuts, footage search, captioning, voice cleanup, generative B-roll, versioning, QC, and automation.
- Design an AI-enabled post-production system with clear human quality gates, naming conventions, templates, version control, review processes, and delivery standards.
- Create reusable motion systems, presets, project templates, asset libraries, SOPs, and editor training materials.
- Give specific, teachable feedback and coach editors to improve judgement.
- Own final quality control and continuously raise the creative standard as the operation scales.
What we're looking for
- 6+ years of professional editing experience with substantial long-form YouTube and short-form work.
- A proven record editing and leading published content for founders, creators, media companies, education, business, or AI channels.
- Advanced editorial judgement across storytelling, retention, pacing, clarity, sound, graphics, visual density, and platform differences.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and modern post-production workflows.
- Experience leading editors, setting standards, reviewing work, managing deadlines, and improving team capability.
- Ability to read retention, watch time, CTR context, completion, shares, and audience feedback and turn them into editing decisions.
- Demonstrated use of AI and automation in a repeatable post-production workflow.
- Strong file architecture, version control, asset management, documentation, and quality-assurance discipline.
